|CA PPM System Optimization|
The client had been using CA PPM primarily for IT Project Governance. The application configuration had been originally modelled on a 7.0.2 platform and was considered by many of the users as being cumbersome. The client had already upgraded to 7.5.2 and asked Pemari consultants to completely redesign the entire system taking into account new requirements, user feedback and additional functionality in 7.5.2.
We worked closely with the PMO functions to gather a user based view on the tool in terms of how they use it and what were their main complaints. We also met with the head of governance to understand, from a compliance point of view, what information needed to be captured in the application. Taking into account all of their differing requirements we completely remodelled a number of CA PPM objects and processes to allow for increased data capture and efficient project approvals. We then demonstrated the resultant system to the various stakeholders for approval. After gaining approval we then worked as overseers for an offshore development team to produce migration and configuration scripts.
The optimized processes reduced the number of process steps from 44 to 11 dramatically reducing the time it takes to get projects started and approved. The reconfigured user interface has also increased the user friendliness of the tool making it an integral part of the clients application map. The increased user friendliness has also improved the quality of the data making reporting more accurate and reliable.
